Awards Night

Dear Wrestlers and Parents,

This Wednesday, March 10, 2010, at 6pm, Middle Creek High School will be hosting the Winter Sports Awards. Please plan on attending to show support and receive your award.

In addition, bring your wrestling warm up and singlet (not the sweats), if you have one. Please wash them before returning.

If I do not receive your warm up, you will not be able to receive your final grade card. So it is imperative that you get both the jacket and pants to me.

Please be sure to tell everyone to make sure everyone is aware - thanks.

The tournament will be hosted by Lee County High School and is scheduled for this Friday and Saturday, February 19 and 20th, 2010. The top 4 in each weight class will advance to the State Championship Tournament.

Team Fundraising

Coach Stiles would like to purchase new singlets and warm ups for the team this year.

To accomplish this he has requested the help of the Stampede Club in addition to doing some fundraising. The Club is contributing $2,500 to the wrestling team and lending about $2,000 so the uniforms and warm ups can be purchased before the fundraisers are accomplished.

The fundraisers are as follows:
1. ESPN Magazine Subscriptions - each wrestler much sell 3 two year subscriptions for $40 each. The team gets to keep $30 per subscription. If you sell 6 subscriptions, you get to keep your warm ups. These are due back to Coach at the end of November. If you do not sell any ESPN subscriptions, you must pay $65 to Coach asap. Checks should be written to MCHS Stampede Club.

2. Coupon Cards - Coach has already procured the local restaurant discounts for the cards that he is having made. Each wrestler must sell 15 cards for $10 each to reach our goal.

3. One of our team parents, Mrs. Branas, made a basket for the Stampede Club auction this year. Each team is asked to make at least one basket for sale at the auction and the team gets to keep the proceeds from the sale of the basket. Each wrestler owes her $8 to contribute to the contents of the basket. It is a game theme. You can contact Karen @ kbranas@nc.rr.com.
